On Going Activities

  • At present AGS is implementing projects in more than 35 district of U.P., Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Mapping for Land development and Water Resource (LDWR) under the IWMP(Integrated Watershed Management Programme) scheme has been completed and more than 100 DPRs have been prepared and successfully submitted to the concern department.
  • As part of the urban planning and master plan preparation for few cities of UP, AGS is using high resolution remote sensing data and GIS techniques in achieving the goal.
  • House to house field surveys through high end GPS is being accomplished for assessment of amenities, living standards, infrastructural facilities and other essential facilities.
  • GIS Mapping of urban poor settlements (Slums) and medical facilities in major cities of UP has been an area of interests in earlier years and similar activity is proposed to be continued.
  • Modernization of land records through remote sensing and GIS techniques is a domain where AGS has been continuously involved and the digitization and updation of cadastral maps is being routinely taken up.
  • Application of remote sensing and GIS techniques in natural resource management programmes
  • Participation in the nationally initiated Ganga River Action Plan by initiating activities on proposing ways and methods to revive the dying tributaries of the Ganga river system.
  • Capacity building program to impart training to different level of officers and actual level end users in the techniques of Remote Sensing, GIS and GPS.
  • Participation in the national level Glaciology and Snow-melt runoff modeling program of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.
  • Participation in the national level programs of Impact of Climate Change on fresh water reserves, initiated by the Ministry of Earth Sciences and Department of Space, Govt. Of India.
